2016, Heart RhythmCitation Excerpt :Outcomes. The success rate of RF ablation in small children in terms of eliminating any particular substrate or arrhythmias on the whole is similar to that of older children,6,65,210 perhaps because ablations in infants have been performed by more experienced pediatric electrophysiologists—a factor associated with successful pediatric ablation procedures in general.210,224 The presence of multiple APs has been found to be a risk for ablation failure, whereas pathway location and CHD have not been related to ablation failure in small patients with APs.65,210
