It is appropriate that the first Drug Therapy section of the Archives of Disease in Childhood, which incorporates Paediatric and Perinatal Drug Therapy (PPDT),1 includes papers from three continents and relates to issues that affect children throughout the world. Both Archives and PPDT have had a long-standing interest in international child health. There is growing recognition that the key issues in relation to drug therapy for children are similar in high income countries in Europe and North America and low and middle income countries in the South. The “Make Medicines Child Size” campaign, which involves the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the leading international children’s charities (UNICEF, Save the Children), has highlighted that the issues of children’s medicines are a global problem.2 The European Society for Developmental, Perinatal …
