  • All three cases had been seen as contacts of household sputum smear-positive fully drug-susceptible disease. None of the cases were bacteriologically confirmed, so it could not be proven that their TB strain was the same as their household source. However, none had any immune suppressive conditions, and did not have any known further contact with other TB cases in the interval between prophylaxis and diagnosis of disease. The chest x-ray of case 3 was thought to be normal for age at 4 months without lymphadenopathy.
