A 7-year-old boy presented with a 3-week history of a progressively enlarging, tender and boggy scalp lesion with associated hair loss. Clinical examination revealed stable vitals and a tender, well-demarcated, erythematous and edematous plaque with multiple pustules, crusting and alopecia on the occipital region, measuring 8 cm in diameter (figure 1).
