A 12-year-old girl was referred with a 3-month history of a mass in the floor of the mouth and a swelling in the submental area. She had difficulty in chewing and swallowing solid foods. Examination revealed a solitary bluish mass in the left side of the floor of the mouth (figure 1A). It was non-tender, fluctuant, soft in consistency and non-mobile.
