Davies' comments on the problems of emergency care for children being exacerbated by ill thought through and disparate changes in service provision are well made; the employment of suitably experienced GPs at the front door of A and E could , despite her canard of GPs dealing with "simple conditions" , reduce the number of unecessary and expensive second tier referrals and admissions.
