Integrated management of childhood illness (IMCI) is, for those who may not be familiar with the term, a WHO and UNICEF initiated strategy for the identification and management of the most common causes of childhood morbidity and mortality in the developing world. IMCI promotes improvement not only of health professionals’ clinical management of cases but also of health systems and of family and community practices.
