Your study reports an incidence of 7.8% nephrolithiasis occurring in a sample of 51 children treated with a 7 day course of normal or high dose ceftriaxone.[1] The renal stones were small sized (2mm) and asymptomatic, detected by abdominal USS. Ceftriaxone is known to bind with calcium ions and form insoluble precipitates leading to biliary pseudolithiasis. As the kidneys eliminate approximately 33-67%...
