Artificial intelligence threatening human health and human existence. Really?

As Archivist understands it, artificial intelligence (AI) is defined as a machine with the ability to compute, analyse, reason, learn and discover meaning. Can AI really challenge human existence? Is it true? Archivist was shocked at this claim; this can’t be true! Federspiel F et al [BMJ Global Health 2023;8:e010435] have summarised these issues very nicely for the readers. So, it appears that AI may have a few positive roles in healthcare such as improved diagnostics, developing new treatments, supporting providers and improving access to healthcare.
