The Archivist has seen that the development of specialised national and international clinical and research networks over the last few decades has been crucial to the improvement in the care of patients in many disciplines. Collecting data, setting standards, benchmarking and driving research provides the evidence base for good quality care. Often, care bundles of activities are suggested to improve major outcomes and then implemented in large numbers across the research networks to establish best practice.
