Transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals have a gender identity that differs from their gender assigned at birth. The Archivist realises that the whole area of TGD can be complicated and it is important for clinicians to understand some of the key medical and mental health issues as the associated social, political and legal arenas evolve.
