Managing migraine is not always straight forward. Although many drugs are available, few have been shown in placebo controlled studies to have an effect long term. Archivist has reported from the adult literature before about calcitonin gene–related peptide (CGRP) and the treatment of migraine. All CGRP-targeted preventive treatments are monoclonal antibodies administered by injection that target the CGRP receptor or ligand.
