What does ‘PEWing’ or ‘PEWsing’ mean? A new word in paediatrics

RMcD, in her role as National PEWS coordinator assessed understanding of the word 'Pewsing' at multiple sites as part of national quality improvement project following introduction of PEWS. BW and OO’S assessed understanding of the word 'Pewsing' at CHI at Tallaght University Hospital. JJF as Clinical Director for Quality Improvement directed national introduction of PEWS and its embedding within Irish Paediatric culture including encouragement of stopping use of word 'pewing or pewsing' DV and DC as Patient Safety Director at CHI and General Paediatric Lead at CHI provided oversight to this project encouraging identification and understanding of the problem and intervention to address same. All authors edited and reviewed submitted manuscript.
