A baby born after a low-risk pregnancy was found to have an unusually large second toe of her right foot (figure 1) during the newborn infant physical examination (NIPE). Movement of the toe appeared painless and unrestricted. The rest of the physical examination was normal. There was no family history of limb hyperplasia. The toe has remained enlarged at 6 months of age (figure 2).
