Preoperative information is of paramount importance because informed consent is a fundamental duty and responsibility of the surgeon. Unanswered questions or misunderstood information generates anxiety in parents, and the more parents are anxious on the day of the operation the more the experience is traumatic for their child.1–5 We decided to evaluate how various aspects of preoperative information were perceived by parents and what reassured them.
