Are antibiotics over-prescribed on children's wards?

Concerns about increasing antibiotic resistance will be well-known to all, and policy-makers are busy devising ways to persuade us to use less. But in order to determine the success of any such intervention, a baseline measure of antibiotic usage needs to be established.
