The Lancet have chosen to devote an entire issue to the 2015 Global Burden of Disease (GBD) project (2016;vol 388:no.10053). This massive piece of work is a collaboration between The Lancet and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), and is impressive in its ambition. They have successfully collated a huge range of important health outcome data on from virtually every country on the globe.
