    A 8-month-old boy presented with a painful skin lesion on the sole of the right foot, near the base of the fifth toe. His parents reported that the lesion first appeared at birth as a small brownish discolouration and evolved rapidly over several months into a conical shape, blackish colour and a hyperkeratotic surface (figure 1).
