Abstract

A 7-month-old boy presented with fulminant myocarditis. He was in cardiac shock and cardiac dysfunction progressed despite aggressive support. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) was applied for 8 days and he recovered with mild dilated cardiomyopathy. (Jpn Circ J 1996; 60: 699 - 702)
