The treatment of the hemolytic-uremic syndrome in 67 infants aged 7 weeks to 29months has been analyzed. Cases were classified into 2 grades of severity to provide a more precise basis for comparison. The institution of early peritoneal dialysis was found to be the most important factor affecting immediate survival. Heparin did not appear to be beneficial in the treatment of the hemolytic-uremic syndrome of infancy.
