2017, Science of the Total EnvironmentCitation Excerpt :The surge patterns of E2 (Kurtoğlu and Baştuğ, 2014) and T (Andersson et al., 1998; De Jong et al., 2012; Forest et al., 1980; Kuirihänninen et al., 2014; Tapanainen et al., 1981; Kuirihänninen et al., 2010) in the two genders have been investigated in blood samples, but the descriptions for the peak value-related growth stages were quite different. Kuiri-Hanninen et al. (Kuirihänninen et al., 2014; Kuirihänninen et al., 2010) showed T peaking at approximately 1 month of age, whereas some earlier studies (Andersson et al., 1998; Forest et al., 1980; Tapanainen et al., 1981) suggested the peak value was at 3 to 4 months of age. Urinary hormone surges have also been investigated before (De Jong et al., 2012, 2013).
