Accessing reviewer comments, the editorial decision, and the published article
To access reviewer comments and the editorial decision on your paper, go to the Bench>Press index and enter your Author Area. Click on the queue Manuscripts with Decisions. Find the manuscript and click on Decision to view the Editor's decision (this will have also been sent to you via email) and Reviews to view any other reviewers' comments.
This queue will also contain a link to your published article - once it has been published online.
Please note: your article will only be available once the manuscript has been published online. An email will be sent to you informing you of the probable publication date, but it is advisable to sign up for an automatic email alert for the actual publication date on the journal website. An email will then be sent to you automatically on the day of online publication. Sign up for an email alert.
The link to your published article is only available via your Author Area on Bench>Press. Please see the Terms and Conditions on the Licence for Publication and Royalty agreement terms document for guidelines pertaining to the distribution of your published article.

Your manuscript archive
All manuscripts submitted by you will be retained on Bench>Press. To access a previously submitted manuscript, enter your Author Area and click on the queue Manuscripts with Decisions. The PDF, editor's decision and reviewer comments (if any) will be available here.
Please note: any rejected manuscripts held in your archive queue will be deleted six months after the decision date; accepted manuscripts will be deleted 12 months after the decision date. All manuscript metadata (the manuscript header information: title, author list etc.), plus editor's decision letter and any reviewer's comments will be held in the archive in perpetuity.

Requests for source files and/or corrected files
- If you are asked to submit source files, it usually means that your manuscript has been accepted and your original source files are not in the correct format and not suitable for publication.
- If you are asked to submit corrected files, it means that either the Editor requires additional information or your manuscript formatting is not correct and therefore not suitable for sending out for peer review.
- An email will be generated by staff and sent to the corresponding author informing him/her of the file(s) required to be corrected/reuploaded including detailed guidelines on how to proceed.
- To upload source files, go to your Author Area on Bench>Press and click on Requests for Source Files then Upload source files. Once you have uploaded all the files, choose the action Notify staff - source files uploaded. Staff will then be able to continue processing your paper.
- To upload corrected files, go to your Author Area and click on Papers Returned for your Attention and then Upload source files. Once you have uploaded all the files, choose the action Notify staff - source files uploaded. Staff will then be able to continue processing your paper.
