AB  - Concerns have been expressed in recent years about the decline in children's clinical and biomedical research in the UK, and in the paediatric academic workforce. Here I consider the extent to which these concerns are justified, the sweeping changes that have taken place in research funding, governance and organisation, and necessary action to take.
