A 7-year-old boy was referred with a 3-year history of an asymptomatic, longitudinal depression of the right thumbnail. There was no history of trauma. He was otherwise well and taking no regular medications. Interestingly, his father, uncle and grandmother all have similar problems with their thumbnails.
