I have read with great interest the article of Kennedy et al1 on the impact of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFA) on growth and blood pressure of preterm infants. The authors state that 'girls born preterm and randomised to LCPUFA-supplemented formula showed increased adiposity at 9–11 years.' Although this statement may be true, it cannot be substantiated by their study.
