Poliomyelitis in Pakistan and Afghanistan
In 2009 only four countries (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nigeria) still had endemic poliomyelitis. The last case in India was in January 2011. Wild type 2 poliomyelitis was eradicated from all countries by 1999.
