The United Kingdom Infantile Spasms Study (UKISS)1 compared hormonal treatment for the management of infantile spasms with treatment with vigabatrin. This study showed that cessation of spasms was more likely in infants given hormonal treatment. We believe that this study has changed our practice and the advice we give colleagues across our region regarding the management of infantile spasms. We undertook this audit to see if this could be confirmed.
