We read the article by Crofton et al with interest. Aynsley-Green et al reported the lack of a serum Growth Hormone (GH) response to spontaneous hypoglycaemia.[1] As an extension of this observation we have shown that spontaneous hypoglycaemia in childhood results in paradoxically low serum GH and appropriate cortisol counterregulatory hormonal responses.[2]
