Lipaemia Retinalis in Untreated Diabetes Mellitus

    Abstract

    A 6-year-old girl developed diabetes mellitus, with marked hyperlipaemia and lipaemic retinalis, both of which rapidly cleared after insulin treatment. Biochemical studies led to the conclusion that dietary fat was the chief source of the excess triglyceride in the blood.
