Abstract

CLINICAL BOTTOM LINE

- Early interventions with developmental care and non- nutritive sucking may reduce length of stay (grade A).

- Early discharge followed by community based domiciliary care is a safe and effective way of reducing length of stay (grade B).

- Discharge planning involving effective multidisciplinary expertise is key to successful earlier discharge (grade C).
